Jenson Button
Jenson Button has pulled of a quite remarkable start to his season. With his Brawn-Mercedes Button has managed to win the opening two races of the 2009 F1 season. This is remarkable in itself given that the team probably shouldn’t even exist after former owners Honda pulled the plug during the winter recess. The fact that the team made it to the grid at all is a massive achievement in these cash-strapped times, that they are also winning races is the stuff of fairy stories. The fairy godmother in this case being Richard Branson coming at the last minute complete with pumpkins, glass slippers and plenty of Virgin’s money. But the real deal here is not the two wins. Instead it is the fact that Jenson Button has pushed Hamilton aside, for a while at least, and now Button is the hero of the moment in hearts’ of the British F1 fans
