Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking was already a heroic figure for his intellectual brilliance, a career carved out in spite of his illness, and naturally as a regular guest on The Simpsons. Now through the book The Grand Design which he has co-authored he’s upset hordes of the religiously minded by stating that scientifically there is no need for a god to bring the universe into being, surely knowing he would be attacked for doing so. We should be thankful for questing minds like Hawking, who must be both amused and annoyed at the poverty of argument put forward by those trying to refute his conclusion. A heretical hero for the modern age
