Bradley Wiggins

Bradley Wiggins is our hero of course for winning the Tour de France, an awesome achievement, the first Briton to manage the feat. But his heroism goes further, is amplified by the way in which he did it: sans pareil (to borrow from our neighbours) in the time trials, and a champion of fair play in refusing to take advantage of his nearest rival suffering a puncture through sabotage. And he speaks fluent French too so even the host nation apparently loves him in spite of him being so English looking – 6’ 3” and made of knotted string, with that Mod haircut and sidies. Throw in that his own idol is Paul Weller and it would be hard to find a more British hero, which is no bad thing to be.
