Michael Eavis

Born in 1935 Eavis is a very British kind of Festival host, the kind of eccentric that we here at information britain like to champion. A chapel going methodist one imagines he must have spent many a week in June turning a blind eye to the many hundred of thousand guests he has welcomed to his farm at Glastonbury Somerset - and we salute him for it. From the humblest of origins the Glastonbury Festival has grown to become one of THE music events of the world and one that should surely make us all proud
