Worcester Tips

An historic city dominated by the totally magnificent cathedral which dates from Norman times. There is of course a lot more to the city today though few boast a history so rich and intriguing. Boat along the river, go out in the car and follow the Elgar Trail - fairly easy to see why the countryside inspired Land Of Hope And Glory - or Shop in the vibrant centre. However whatever you do a visit to the Royal Worcester Visitor Centre is a must. It is porcelain that has made the city renowned worldwide. With substantial English Civil War connections and perfectly placed to explore the Wye Valley, Cotswolds and the stunning Malvern Hills the city is truly worth a visit. And the cathedral is stunning. Honestly. Population 95,000

In order that people may be happy in their work, these three things are needed: They must be fit for it. They must not do too much of it. And they must have a sense of success in it. - John Ruskin
