Taplow is a riverside village that’s been inhabited since the Stone Age. With interesting towns such as Eton and Windsor close by Taplow is ideally placed. The Thames path leads many on a trail of discovery with beautiful views and wildlife all the way to Bray Lock. Or perhaps an expedition to ’The Bishop Centre’ home to over 30 shops, Or why not visit Dorney Court this beautiful Manor House was built in 1440, was visited by Henry V111 and Elizabeth 1, with 15th/16th Century furniture, portraits and needlework makes for an interesting visit. A few miles away is Windsor Castle which is the oldest occupied castle in the world, nearly 1000 years old. Inside the splendour of the apartments, furniture and Queen Mary’s Dolls House wont fail to please, or St Georges Chapel, an awe inspiring building dedicated to the highest order of chivalry ‘The Order Of The Garter’. Or maybe Hughenden Manor will tempt you, The Red Brick Georgian Mansion was home to Benjamin Disraeli, Queen Victoria’s favourite Prime Minister, where many personal items and belongings are arranged as they would have been during his time, outside the glorious gardens, park and woodland trails are an enchanting experience.
