Tregony is a village steeped in history on the River Fal, dating back to pre Norman times was an active port in the 14th Century, and is the gateway to the Roseland Peninsular. The main street is full of old Cornish cottages with bridge, impressive clock tower, unusual shops and interesting Art Gallery where displays of paintings, drawings, sculptures, are on show. Close by is the Wayside Museum where over 5,000 exhibits are on display, such as water wheels from Cornish Mining Industry, Blacksmiths Forge and an 18th Century kitchen, add together a children’s Museum with a quiz and trail, makes this a really pleasurable place to visit. Or perhaps Chysauster Ancient Village which is a window into Celtic Cornwall, this ancient settlement was occupied 2,000 years ago. If the wonders of Nature please the a trip to The Lost Gardens of Heligan where a stunning collection of different gardens all set within 200 acres, home to Lakes, ponds, rare and unusual plants. There is even a 22 acre sub tropical jungle, what more could possibly be asked for. There are so many things to explore and everything to be remembered with a visit to the pretty village of Tregony..
