Born 1809. Died 1898 - Politician and Prime Minister


Educated at Eton and Oxford he entered Parliament in 1832 as a Conservative. In 1867 he became leader of the Liberal Party and soon after served term as Prime Minister (1868-1874) and then again 1880-1885, 1886 and 1892-1894. He was notable for administrative reform and is still regarded as one of the greatest Prime Ministers.
