More Accommodation in Carlisle
The majority of people never consider staying at an Inn. Images of Dralon headboards; polyester sheets and communal bathrooms with a jukebox blaring below have understandably always put people off. Now; more people are shunning the starchiness of country house hotels in favour of an Inn’s informality and relaxed atmosphere. We have a VisitBritain Four star Rating; as well as a AA Four star rating. We are a lovely countryside located restaurant with rooms. Enjoy a Cumbrian hotel weekend getaway; Christmas festive break; summer break; short stay or a long stay at The Weary; Castle Carrock; as seen in the Michelin Hotel Guide. Our chef is as passionate about food as we are about beer and wine. Whether it's for a quick cup of coffee; a glass of one of our selected wines or a two course meal; we welcome you to join us at our hotel near the Lake District. Our home made food is freshly prepared and the menu changes on a regular basis. We have designed an informal menu from which many of our dishes can be taken as a starter or a main course. The Weary offers varied menus to suit all; from the Early Bird and Children's Menu through to the full A-La-Carte Menu. Now; more people are shunning the starchiness of country house hotels in favour of an Inns informality and relaxed atmosphere. Recognising this trend; Ian and Gill who had been in tourism; running restaurants and hotels for many years realised there was a gap in the market; so they purchased The Weary Sportsman Inn; Castle Carrock; Nr Carlisle. We found that there was a general trend towards informality. More and more people wanted to eat flexibly and stay in quality accommodation without breaking the bank; say's the proprietor. The local area around The Weary has plenty to do; walks; Hadrian's wall; The Lakes; Scottish Borders; Carlisle City and Newcastle to name just a few.
