A fabulous day out for all the family
Here at Whitworth Country Park we offer visitors the opportunity to hand
feed our herd of fallow deer and view the red deer across the park. The
country park is also home to over 50 species of resident and migrant birds.
Why not follow our nature trail and see how many you can see.
Come along to Whitworth Hall Country Park and listen to Spennymoor Town Band playing in our fabulous new band stand on Sundays during the summer months. Why not treat yourself to one of our delicious afternoon teas whilst sitting on the lawns or perhaps meander through the park and Victorian Walled Garden where you can visit the plant nursery and buy some of the specialised plants grown there
Call in at our Victorain Walled Garden and wander the rose lined walkways
and through the orchard and outdoor vines. There are also ancient pear &
plum trees trained against walls. All year round interest is provided in
the flower borders and the newly established vegetable plot shows both
traditional and innovative ways to grow your own food. the hardy plant
nursery growns and sells a range of interesting and exotic plants suitable
for northern gardens. In the renovated Victorian glass houses you will find
wall trained figs, peaches, nectarines and more vines.
There are plenty places within the park for lunch, a snack or afternoon tea.
Lakeside Inn & Restaurant is set adjacent to the Lake and has both indoor
and outdoor play areas for the children whilst the Silver Buckles Brasserie
in the actual hotel offers a special 1, 2, or 3 course lunch in delightful
