Moreton is the quintessential sleepy Dorset Village. It has been part
of the same estate since 1300 so very little has changed here. Somewhat
bizarrely it is also the final resting place of Lawrence of Arabia in the
heart of the village next to Moreton Gardens. The peaceful Moreton Gardens
contrast the formal with the informal. Winding paths travel through woodland
and bog areas and out along the stream and pond to the formal part of the
garden with its long pergola, fountain, rose garden and sun dial garden. It
is a truly natural garden, Tom and Debra take care to plant varieties that
will appeal to wildlife.
There are walks for children where they can find "fairies at the bottom of
the garden" and many other "things" too. The Plant Centre has for sale many
types of plant and the shop sells gifts, ices, drinks and refreshments.
Disabled facilities.
