Bubonic Plague! The 1665/6 outbreak in Eyam, when the villagers quarantined themselves, is vividly portrayed, including the tragic stories of individual families. The recovery follows, and the growth of local industries is described.

Our new Eyam Connections room opened in 2012, and hosts temporary displays including grim facts about 17th century medicine. A major exhibition to commemorate the outbreak of World War one will run until 2018, and has received excellent reviews.
