More Information

Originally built in 1908 for managers of the nearby Rowntree's chocolate factory, this centrally located, friendly bed and breakfast accommodation has been awarded 3-star rating by the English Tourist Board. Dalescroft offers warm and friendly bed and breakfast accommodation, each morning serving a full English breakfast in a charming building, within walking distance of York’s historic city centre. The B&B is located in the Bishopthorpe Road area of York, just 400 yards from the medieval city walls. This is a quiet place where you can park your car using the B&B’s free permits and take a pleasant stroll along the river into the city. It is just a 10 minute walk to the city centre, where you can enjoy all the attractions that this historic city has to offer. Dalescroft’s quiet but convenient location means that the railway station, racecourse and all of the city’s amenities are within walking distance.

From the moment you arrive at this very special family run guest house you cannot help to appreciate the warmth, comfort and hospitality offered by your hosts Iris and Dennis Blower since 1983. Originally built in 1908 for the management of the world famous York Rowntree's chocolate factory (now owned by Nestlé), this fine example of a Victorian town house was recently refurbished and sympathetically decorated to the original Victorian décor and theme by the present owners.
