Goodwood House combines the glamour of a great English country house with the warmth of a family home. The Dukes of Richmond have lived at Goodwood for over 300 years, and the present (10th) Duke of Richmond’s son, the Earl of March, now lives in this elegant Sussex House that provides a dramatic setting for one of the most significant private art collections in the country. Restored to their original Regency splendour, the State Apartments reflect exoticism and opulence. The Richmond family history encompasses a love of hunting, horse racing, shooting and cricket. In the 20th and 21st centuries they have added motorsport, aviation and golf to their private and public enjoyments. Their story is told in full in Goodwood House, together with that of their children and wider family, through the portraits and paintings, furniture and porcelain belonging to them and their ancestors.
