The Beechwood Hotel is a detatched Victorian country house set in more than 2 acres of gardens and woodlands. The hotel is in a quiet elevated position with views over the town and sea and borders the coastal path. The Beechwood was built in 1883 as a Victorian gentleman's residence. It has fine period features which together with modern comforts and facilities creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Antique furniture, original paintings and William Morris inspired furnishings add to the ambience. All the spacious guest rooms are en-suite, with remote control colour television, clock radio, central heating, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

There is a comfortable drawing room in which to relax, a separate licensed bar and a pleasant dining room where you can enjoy a Continental or Full English Breakfast. In the evening a splendid dinner menu is offered and the imaginative dishes are freshly prepared using locally sourced produce. The hotel has a dining award from the AA and is ideally situated to enable our guests to enjoy the delights of North Devon.
