My appontment was an emergency appointment as I had been suffering excrutiating ear ache for almost 2 days and had not had any sleep. It was booked for 11.50am and unfortunately I arrived on time to be told my doctor had already gone home because I was late (eh?) Incidentally when I got back in the car after the uproar I caused in the surgery the clock said 11.54am. The receptionist told me I was too late as it was 12 noon (it wasn't)She then carried on chatting with her fellow receptionists and having a generally jolly time. So i enquired what was I supposed to do? "Can I at least have a prescription for painkillers as I am in agony?" " No we don't do that" "Well can I see another DR then?" "No we're fully booked" "Right so what you're saying is because I may be a little late you can't help me?" "No" When I then complained a little loudly to my companion that I couldn't be seen because I was apparently late. I mentioned irately that it's ok to be left sat waiting to see a DR for an hour and a half with no explanation and went to leave. I then had the very same receptionist try to tell me that she had now found me an appointment!!! Surprise surprise, so I told her to stuff it and came home (Well as I said I'd had no sleep so I wasn't at my most pleasant).I got home to the phone ringing and when I answered Lo and Behold it was the surgery explaining that in fact my DR hadn't left the surgery at all and was in fact still there!!!!she seemed quite surprised when I didn't readily agree to haul myself back to the surgery to be seen by the invisible man.I bade my goodbyes and then she rang me again (Hey I've got earache remember) So I put the phone down on her mid flow and let her get back to arsing about with her colleagues I NOW HAVE A HEADACHE TOO BUT i WON'T BE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT ANY TIME SOON
