We have previously stayed at the Cricketers at Rickling Green, which we really like but they were full. We were greeted by orange tartan carpet and LCD TVs showing sports in all bar areas. The only escape was to sit in the "garden area" - a creosote coated fenced off area alongside the car park. The room had water stains and burns in the carpet and there was a leak in the shower/bath which left a dangerous puddle on the floor.
Walls and floors like paper, so you could hear everything throughout the building.
