When we arrived we were directed to field C. As soon as we turned in I was dismayed at the state of the "field". (A narrow strip of land) I know we have had a lot of wet weather but it was atrocious. Caravans squeezed in either side of a huge mud bath down the middle. We dare n't take the pitch at the bottom as we thought we may never get out again. The pitches were the smallest we'd ever seen. Fitted the caravan, and awning with an extra 2' to spare, no where to put out your chairs if the weather was good enough to sit out and as the cars were parked across the fronts of the caravans you could n't let your kids out of the awning as you could n't see if any cars were coming. There was a very small play area for the kids next to the shower block which was taken over most of the time by much older children hanging out. The showers & toilets were not as clean as they could be - they are cleaned twice a day but not that thoroughly - snails crawling up the walls. The windows to the ladies showers were locked closed with plastic ties, so that end of the block was permanently running with condensation and the floor swimming with water which was muddy in view of the ground outside. (I realised when I went to wash up that the windows were fastened too as they would open into the dish wash room and soak anyone washing up). Anything you took in the showers came out wet. The shop was a complete waste of time. Not sure if they even sold bread but had none when we went in (10 oclock in the morning). The swimming pool was quite nice but their info said free for under 5's but they charged. I know it's only 50p for them but when you have a large family it all adds up on a daily basis. The only thing this site has going for it is its proximity to a lovely beach. We will not be visiting again. This site is not worth £20+ per night. I talked to a lot of other people who felt the same. We had a look at some other sites along that coast which were much beter and we'll be going there next time.

stayed here 20 years ago and thought we would return because of the idylic location but the facilities are exactly the same as they were then......UGH,primitive doesn't cover it! I think my grown up children would use the words 'rank' or 'mingin'

We have camped for over 20 years. The first time we pulled onto abererch sands we were very impressed by the space available. I have always felt safe and had a good nights sleep! We love abererch sands the atmosphere and the facilities available. We have looked at other sights since finding abererch sands, and I often say to my husband we've been spoilt because I'm yet to find another site that can measure up to what abererch sands offers. We have two teenage children who when we look at going away and mention abererch sands they jump at the chance to stay there again.

One has to be careful not to upset the owners BUT SOMETIMES THE TRUTH JUST HAS TO BE TOLD . We chose this site years ago because of its location and cleanliness BUT it seems the owners do not want to re - invest a penny towards its upkeep . The toilets are an absolute disgrace and health hazard .The shower produces hot water but not on a regular basis . The shop is dated and stock kept to a minimum , along with the rest of the site , everything looks dated , tired and shambolic ! The grounds are unkempt and it seems they have no-one looking after the general upkeep of the site and its facilities .Anyone looking to stay in North Wales will have many more up to date sites to choose from before they had to resort to staying here . It is a shame the owners have let this well located site fall into such disarray but im sure the drop in visitors will decide their future . signed E

My family and I have been to Aberech Sands for our summer holidays for a number of years. Abererch Sands is in a fabulous position just off the beach and is within strolling distance to the marina. The site itself is ideal for families and the atmosphere on summer nights, when the parents are sitting chatting, watching their kids join in and playing ball games is just something else. The site has a swimming pool and games room and a small shop with provisions. There are two shower and toilet facilities sited on either side of the camping site. There is lots of space where kids can enjoy themselves. Abererch Sands is an ideal place to stay where you can enjoy exploring the Lleyn Peninsula at your leisure. But don't all come at once, cause we want to book our pitch for this year first.

In our opinion the facilities at this site are poor in relation to other sites we have used. It seemed that we were put in the over spill field and the toilet and shower facities in this field were primative, with nowhere to hang any belonging while you actually took a shower. The actual site had a barrier that needed a card for access, which when we asked for such a card to enable us to drive to use the slightly better showers, we were told that we could not have a card and we could park the car by the shop and walk to the shower block. The area is beautiful and we have not been put off by this bad choice of site.
