Latest review - This show is absolutely not worth ANY entrance fee. Very few exhibiters, and I mean very ...More

Our first Show, in May 2005, was established as we felt, as both regular exhibitors and farmers, that the existing Agricultural County Shows were fast losing their farming and country roots, and were simply drifting into becoming highly commercialised events where the true interests of the visitors were being overlooked. What place, really, have Jacuzzis, double glazing and adjustable beds got at an Agricultural Show. Even more, do you really want to pay to go and see them! In addition many of these shows have become prohibitively expensive to both exhibitors and visitors - in excess of £35.00 for a family ticket seems to be quite normal.

Blindley Heath Country Show was therefore started with a very clear edict.
All trade stands have to have a rural, farming or countryside connection, and any stands that did not comply with this would not be permitted. In addition all admission costs would be reasonable and food and drink offered for sale would be high quality at reasonable prices.

Our idea has really worked!
Last year over 140 trade stands enjoyed a great trade. Ten thousand members of the public attended. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the majority of stallholders have already indicated that they wish to return.
