Ezra is an increasingly rare thing in a music world of over-produced under-talented pretty things, a young singer-songwriter with a different and rather beautiful voice (soulful, and about 25 years older than him), a gift for simple melody, and a knowledge of his craft that goes further back than Taylor Swift. His influences in fact include greats like Dylan, Lead Belly, and the sublime Woody Guthrie. Budapest deserved better than number 3 in the singles charts, but we’re guessing it won’t be his last hit.
