Omid Djalili is a comedian and actor – often in films as the ‘man of generic Middle Eastern appearance.’ Born in Chelsea (whose team he supports) of Iranian origin, he was educated at Holland Park School (‘the socialist Eton’) and at the University of Ulster, he made his name as a stand-up, coming to wider attention at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1995 – his tours are now global. As an actor his career now embraces work in the USA and the UK, and includes regular appearances in TV advertising campaigns, kerching, and why not?
