Began her career as writer at the New Musical Express. Later wrote for the Face and the Sunday Times on the subjects of politics, pop, fashion and society. Also a column in The Guardian. Frequently wrote pieces attacking celebrity figures. Retired from journalism in 2007 to concentrate on writing books and television scripts.
