Had various jobs in public relations and publishing before becoming columnist on Sunday Times. First book was How To Stay Married (1979). Began writing romance stories in 1975, first big novel Riders published in 1985. Other novels include Appasionata (1996), SCORE! (1999) and Pandora (2002). In 1998 received Lifetime Achievement Award at British Book Awards.
