Born 1902 - Attock Serai, India. Died 1892 - English Conservative politician.


Educated at Marlborough and Cambridge. Became MP for Saffron Walden. Associated with Education Act of 1944 which reorganised secondary school system. Narrowly missed out on leadership of party to Harold Macmillan, again to Alec Douglas-Home. Made a life peer in 1965.
