Born 1799. Died 1871 - English photographer and illustrator.


An English botanist and photographer, she applied the early photographic process, the cyanotype, to produce more accurate pictures of specimens and published British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions (1843). Only a few copies of the book were made, one of which is held in the National Media Museum in Bradford. Further publications followed including Cyanotypes of British and Foreign Flowering Plants and Ferns (1854).
