Winteringham is a small quiet village that sits on the banks of the River Humber in Lincolnshire. The village reaches back into the history books with the arrival of the Romans who settled here. The surrounding treasures on offer such as Normanby Hall Country Park with elegant interiors set in 300 acres of beautiful parkland, and the interesting Farm Museum is fun to explore, with the deer park, nature Trails and not forgetting the adventure playground, makes for a wonderful day out. Or if the wonders of nature are enjoyed with a promise of fine views over the River Humber and Reads Island, Winteringham Haven is it, a Salt Marsh bordering mudflats and home to treasures such as short eared owls, and pink-footed geese. Or why not visit Blacktoft Sands, a perfect habitat for over 270 birds, or perhaps the view of the Humber Bridge will have you reaching for your camera or paintbrush, or a trip to the Baysgarth House Museum set in 30 acres of impressive grounds, the museum will share many exhibits of agriculture, coins, medals, toys and hobbies, the Georgian and Victorian Rooms give an insight into yesteryear, there is even a stonemasons and shoemaker’s workshop.
