Dowry House dates back to the 16th century and is steeped history and period features. The two available bed and breakfast rooms are contained within the Georgian part of the house and feature tea and coffee making facilities, flat-screen digital televisions and wireless internet access. Cooked or continental breakfast is available to order the night before and is served in the Georgian morning room.

Dowry House is ideally situated for places to visit. Windsor, Oxford, the Cotswolds and Bath are all within an hour's drive. Reading has a mainline train service to London Paddington (20 mins by Intercity). Dowry House is conveniently placed near to motorways and the railway, yet in a peaceful rural setting.

The surrounding area of Berkshire and North Hampshire feature both beautiful and peaceful rural countryside and family tourist attractions. There are various places to eat in the area from characterful local pubs to the Michelin starred L'Ortolan.

Our family has lived in the immediate area for a generation and would be glad to advise you on places of interest or any of the fantastic local pubs and restaurants.

For those looking to make their stay an especially memorable experience we offer hire of a Morgan sportscar in which to tour the area.
