B and Bs in Dorchester
Malcolm Scholes welcomes visitors to the casual and informal atmosphere of Chapel House, where guests can unwind and enjoy the comforts of this converted chapel, read a book or relax in the conservatory.
Chapel House is situated in the quiet village of Henley, between the historic towns of Dorchester and Sherborne. Close by are a variety of local pubs and restaurants offering a wide choice of menu, wines and local beer. There are many beautiful walks over the hills in all directions with wild flowers and birds in abundance. We live in Hardy country, so follow the Hardy trail and discover Hardy's Wessex for yourselves. Dorset has a wonderfully varied coastline stretching from Poole in the East to Lyme Regis and beyond in the West simply waiting to be explored, whilst inland historic villages beckon in the gentle valleys. National Trust, English Heritage and private properties with beautifull gardens are everywhere just waiting to be visited and enjoyed. See the tanks in action at Bovington or sample the off road delights of the Henley Hillbillies nearby. The Gaggle of Geese public house and restaurant is a fifteen minute walk along a quiet country road, if you do not feel like driving after a long day and they serve good food too. There are at least another eight pubs serving food within fifteen minutes drive and Sherborne and Dorchester are twenty minutes drive with all they have to offer.
