One of Cornwall's finest early 18th century houses, faced in lustrous silvery-grey Pentewan stone, offset by colonnaded wings of red brick and set within grounds landscapoed by Repton.

These include the formal garden with the National Collection of Day Lilies and fine summer borders, the superb woodland garden with its outstanding displays of rhododendrons, azaleas, carmellias and magnolias (owned privately by the Carew-Pole Garden Trust). Also of note are the 18th century dovecote and the 1789 Bath Pond House.

Antony has been the home of the Carew family for almost 600 years.

We should have a great fewer disputes in the world if words were taken for what they are, the signs of our ideas only, and not for things themselves. - John Locke
