Restaurants in Brighton
More sits above the lovely old Great Eastern pub at the lower end of Trafalgar Street. For a biggish place with dark red walls, wood paneling and burgundy leather seating it's surprisingly cosy. Perhaps that's why it's a popular hang-out for a free and easy crowd - many of them students and tutors from the nearby college - who like their food and cocktails fresh and affordable. The Modern European bistro-style menu tends to avoid categorisation and perhaps it's easier to say that More serves a variety of snacks and mains from a full English breakfast to veggie antipasti and a cracking eight-ounce topside beef burger, served with coleslaw and fries. A handful of tables outside encourage al fresco relaxation, weather permitting. Live music on Saturdays.
