Bodyflying is the skill of flying your body on a vertical stream of air, with winds exceeding 140mph. The indoor skydiving simulator enables people of any shape or size the opportunity to safely experience the thrill of freefall without jumping from aeroplane or the need for a parachute. Skydivers from all over the World travel to Bedford to practice their flying skills in the unrivalled space and air quality. The venue is an ex-Ministry of Defence science facility that was built in the 1950's to test the aerodynamics of aeroplanes. The renovation to transform the site into a revolutionary indoor skydiving facility began in January 2005 and in August Bodyflight Bedford was launched. The flight chamber measures 16 feet (5 metres) across and over 26 feet (8 metres) in height, powered by 4,000 ph motor. Since opening last year Bodyflight has seen over 15,000 people fly with them.
