Imposing mansion within attractive parkland with a 900 year history. Facilities include a working kitchen, clockmaker, printer general store and garden where costumed interpreters carry out daily chores of the 1820s. Exhibition areas, "story of Callendar House" and 'William Forbes Falkirk', plus two temporary exhibition galleries, with changing exhibitions. There is also a history research centre, gift shop and Georgian Teashop at the stables. House is large, allow two and a half hours for visit.
