Dating back to 1874, the hotel has been magnificently restored to retain its Victorian grandeur. From stunning stained glass windows to ornate fireplaces and classical corniced high ceilings, you will feel at home here. Its charming warm and friendly atmosphere provides the perfect retreat for a romantic weekend away or the business guest.

Complimentary sherry and shortbread await you as you check in to your bedroom. Our rooms are all individually decorated to capture the country-style ambience throughout the hotel. Being a Victorian hotel our rooms come in all different shapes and sizes adding more character than any chain hotel. A mix of classical meets contemporary; we have a range of cosy and comfortable rooms to suit all budgets. You may choose from either a splendid classic double en-suite room or our stylish, more contemporary executive rooms with King beds. Specially designed with romance in mind, our Superior 4 Poster rooms are our most popular, featuring elegant 4 poster beds and spa baths, perfect to compliment any special occasion, honeymoon or romantic weekend away.

At Kildonan Lodge Hotel, you can expect a dining experience of the highest quality and value for money, combining only the very best of fresh local produce, friendly service and Scottish cuisine. Set in our elegant, candlelit dining room, Mathew's Restaurant creates the perfect mood for romantics, families and business travellers alike. If you wish to dine at Mathew's Restaurant, we advise reserving a table at time of room booking to avoid disappointment.

Set yourself up for a busy day of Edinburgh sightseeing and indulge in a traditional full Scottish breakfast. For those who prefer a lighter start to the day or business guests on the run, choose from a wide selection of fresh fruit, juices, cereals, croissants, cheese and cold meats on our continental buffet. Breakfast is included in our room rates.

Our splendid Victorian lounge and bar provides a tranquil setting in which guests can relax by the open fire and enjoy a dram from our fine selection of Scottish whiskies and local beers in the honesty bar. Free wireless broadband internet access is available throughout the hotel and guests have ample space to leave their cars while they explore Edinburgh. We are located only 1.5miles from Princes Street and the Royal Mile. You may choose to explore Edinburgh on foot or by utilising the frequent bus services opposite the hotel. The hotel is located on the main bus route into town, which frequently stop outside the hotel to and from the city centre.
