Walsall Leather Museum is housed in a superbly restored Victorian factory and tells the story of how Walsall became the capital of Britain's leathergoods trade.

Today Walsall-made saddles, bridles, whips, bags, wallets, personal organisers and hundreds of other items are exported all around the world from the 90 leather companies still manufacturing in the town.

At the Leather Museum you can find out all about this fascinating trade in displays which feature Walsall-made leather goods, both past and present. There's also a show of beautiful and unususal 'designer' leatherwork. As you watch our team of skilled demonstrators at work in authentic workshops, enjoy a chat with them about their craft and industry.

Our superb shop sells a wide range of Walsall-made bags, wallets and purses and an interesting selection of other leathergoods at discounts of up to 50% off the retail recommended price.

The museum is a five minute walk from the New Art Gallery.
