Wildwood Escot is East Devon’s conservation and wildlife treasure, with its winding woodland paths and beautiful flowers, creating the perfect environment for our collection of native and formerly-native wildlife.

Start your adventure by picking up a free visitor map, guiding you around over 200 acres of stunning parkland where guinea fowl and majestic peacocks roam freely. Meet rare red squirrels in our walk-through enclosure, test your orientation with our world-class beech hedge maze, and marvel at our birds of prey displays. Navigate the vast woodland, stumbling across our wildcat and lynx enclosures, and discover Jurassic Pork where wild boar and their piglets roll around in the mud! With a hidden playground, a knee-trembling drop slide and an indoor play barn all at your feet, Wildwood Escot is the perfect place for a family day out.

If you’re looking for a blend of education and fun, then visit Edcott, our Anglo-Saxon village which comes to life with a working forge, woodwork and the opportunity to also make your own Saxon penny. Get involved with wheat milling, learn about food and herbs of the era, and torture your friends in the stocks!

For peace and tranquillity after all the excitement, stroll around our walled garden before visiting our gift shop which is full of fun and educational gifts. From pens and pencils to bug finders and postcards, there is plenty here for you to take home as a memento of your day out at Wildwood Escot.

Finish your day by enjoying some refreshments at the Coach House Restaurant, where we serve delicious homemade food including Devonshire cream teas – perfect for taking a break before you head home!
