Restaurants in City
This listed old bank building makes an impressive location for City lunches and dinners. But then you'd expect its creator Soren Jessen, formerly of Goldman Sachs, to know a thing or two about what City folk like. Filled with light and blessed with high ceilings and well spaced out tables - good for private deals - it is a Michelin-starred world away from some of the more canteen style establishments in the fast-paced area. The Ozwald Boateng clad staff are effortlessly charming, while head chef Herbert Berger's creative cooking is as brilliant as his reputation. He recommends asparagus wrapped in Serano ham and grilled on the barbecue. We like the supreme and fricasse of Blackleg chicken, young leeks and cream of morels in vin jaune, followed by a few sneaky spoonfuls of feuilllante of caramelised Granny Smith and Guinness ice cream. A luxurious menu indeed.
