The course adjoins the magnificent grounds of the luxurious, 14th Century Manor House Hotel and is set in 365 acres of wooded valley and downland. Dominated by ancient oak and beech woods, the championship course lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty bordering the picturesque Cotswold village of Castle Combe. The peace and tranquility of the surrounding countryside provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable round. Peter Alliss, who designed the 6,500 yard course with Clive Clark says, "It's hard to imagine a finer setting for an English golf course." The setting, layout and design make each hole memorable and the course is testing yet fair and enjoyable. The River Bybrook and its tributary streams feature dramatically at several holes including the spectacular short 17th. The lakes and waterfalls of the 18th make for a truly spectacular and often dramatic finish. Awarded the prestigious course ranking Gold Award‚ by Golf Monthly in 2008 for quality of design and clubhouse ambience, it is one of the most spectacular 18-hole, par 72 golf courses in the UK. The attractive clubhouse has superb five-star changing facilities complete with sauna, spike bar, elegant restaurant and a well-stocked golf shop.
