JAM helmsman John Biscombe is heavily involved with Jazz and is one of the founder members of the Cheltenham JAZZ Club . John has an extensive knowledge of all the jazz luminaries and can help you track down that elusive recording of Thelonious Monk on CD or perhaps offer his reflections of his own past motoring exploits whilst showing you an array of books on Ferrari's, Bugattis and other such names. Many of these publications are not to be found in high street bookshops.

Good art and good jazz continue to share a progressive open-ended ness and as ever, mean different things to as many people. Jazz can be Glenn Miller's big band, Sinatra, the James Bond theme, a quintet playing in a Smokey Parisian bar, vintage Cleo Lane or new favourite Diana Krall. Whatever your taste in music you should check out the carefully chosen range of jazz on CD and extensive range of books about Jazz at COURTYARD JAM.

Open from 10.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday a visit to Courtyard JAM is certainly a worthwhile experience and if you don't come away with an exceptional album by the likes of Charlie `Bird' Parker, Sonny Criss, Mingus, Warne Marsh, Brew Moore or Kenny Dorham, you may well go home with paints, brushes, canvas and an ambition to fulfill!
