We had a very unsatisfactory time here and didn't stay for the night as planned. The owner and his wife were unhelpful and unpleasant. The room was very small and sub-standard. We were told our complaint about the room was deemed to be a cancellation and so we were charged for the room, minus a small amount for breakfast. Trading Standards and the tourist authorities were informed.

My family used to rent this house for our holidays when I was a child. The part of the house to the right (facing the front door) was added after then. There was a farm down the lane from which we used to get our dairy. The only place I knew of that had multiple-yolked eggs! It was a lovely spot, and we used to have a wonderful time there. Hugely disappointed. It is clear why there are no photographs of the rooms which are well below standard for the price, in our view. We have considerable experience locally and found the room small, poorly equipped and basic. However, the room and bedding were clean. Our main concern was the shower which ran either scolding hot or freezing cold, with inadequate controls. Our second concern was the offensive manner with which our concerns were dealt by the owner. He was confrontational and rude, rather than sympathetic and helpful. Despite the beautiful setting of the house, we chose to re-locate and not stay a second night. Overall, poor value for money.
