Good Points: The view is amazing and the bar is comfortable for relaxing in the evening. We liked the games provided. Bad Points: The door was closed, when we arrived and nobody answered, when we rang the doorbell. We had to call the emergency number for someone to let us in. The hostess was not very welcoming, very firm and not very talkative.

Such a disappointment! A lovely brochure photo of a cliff top hotel overlooking the sea. Our room, number 7, was at the back and our view of the car park was partly obscured by the bunk beds. We arrived late, 9.30 pm., but no food was available nor would it have been, the dining room serves breakfast only. Nuts in the bar was the best we could manage. The bar was opened to serve us and then closed again. We didn't see the night porter but were given an access code for the front door. Our room was dingy, furnished with worn out mis-matched furniture and shabbily upholstered. The only place to plug in the kettle was on the skirting board behind the door. The bathroom carpet had seen better days and the tiny shower cubicle was close to collapse. Notices abounded: Extra tea bags or coffee sachets only a pound, inconsiderate parking will result in a fine etc. The breakfast was a redeeming feature but all in all we felt unwelcome and disappointed. And all for only £110 per night.

Good Points: amazing position and garden Bad Points: poor bathroom General Review: The hotel is cosy and nice. Its position is magnificient, overlooking Sandown amazing beach and pier. It features a very nice garden with stunning views. I would deinitely recommend it both for short and long stays. I would ask for a room at the front of the house, though. In fact we stayed in a small room at the back with no view of the sea and a quite scant bathroom. But the rest of the rooms must be very nice, especially the ones on the first floor. All in all a very pleasant stay, thanks also to a very nice staff and very good morning breakfast. : )
