We decided on the Worlington Hall Hotel for my Mother's 80th Birthday celebrations after it became clear we needed space for 64 people in total. Being local, we were aware of the Hotel's past decline but had heard good things were developing. What a great experience! Friendly, efficient and a genuine interest in tailoring the whole thing to suit our needs. The newly refurbished function room is wonderful, the buffet food was as stated, all home made and fresh and very nice indeed. Will be recommending and returning.

Wow, how this place has turned around! Under new management and this guy knows his stuff. Decided to hold our shoot dinner for 27 people although we were dissappointed a few years back. NOT this time. Food...delicious, hot and plenty. Staff on the ball and attentive. Another function was being held at the same time but all ran smooth. Huge roaring fire in the bar really welcoming. We shall be making this our local. Big thankyou to the Chef and all the staff.

We came here hoping for lunch after seeing this hotel marked as having 4 AA stars on http://www.britinfo.net/T/1058390.htm. A rather depressing entrance - absolutely no activity that could be see. We walked in to follow voices and found the very dark - no lights on - bar where three persons (one perhaps the lady proprietor) were discussing some apparent crisis. We asked for lunch but were told they had no chef on a Monday and did not serve lunches then. Odd, we thought, 'cos four star AA hotels are supposed to do lunches any day of the week. We left and I thought I saw an AA sign for 3 stars by the front door! Confused we went elsewhere (Bedford Lodge Newmarket - a magic place incidentally) and after we got home I contacted the AA to discover that this place isn't even approved by them at all let alone to four or even three stars. From this and what has been written before it was a lucky escape I reckon. We warned!

From first impressions before you open the front door it looks fine. It smells musty, and of chip fat. The rooms are like something out of a haunted house. The evening meal was appauling and bearly fit for human consumption. I had no hot water in my room and had to use a colleagues room to get a shower. There was also a half empty used shampoo bottle and tablet of soap in the shower cubicle which indicates it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests.

not a good place I fear. Poor food, in fact very very poor, musty dining room, we too were the only table in there, and to be honest we felt let down. it looks such a nice place from the front, but it all goes downhill from there

the worst meal we have had in years. we managed to survive 5-6 minutes in the restautant before getting up and leaving our "food" behind. Having ordered filet, my partner was given sirloin, beacuse "thats whhat the waiter wrote down" I had the duck breast which would have been a challenge to a ribd dog, so tough that the knife provided failed to cut thru it. We ordered red wine and the waiter brought white, no bread, no rolls, no other customers. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE ITS OVERPRICED AND NOT GOOD

Worlington Hall provided my husband and myself with comfortable accomidations and a homey atmosphere. The food was wonderful and the service was grand. I hope that my husband has to return just so I can visit the people and the place that made me feel at home.
