This is a first class pub serving real ales and food of quality and is managed by first class management and staff. I should know because I am a retired Pub Co chairman and have personally owned serveral pubs. I suggest that those who critise stick to Wetherspoons and enjoy the mediocare consistent with their personalities.

Totally over priced. To add to this the decor is stark and unfriendly and the staff are unprofessional. Don’t both with this place it’s a hole in every respect.

Wonderfull old coaching Inn, a fantastic garden overlooking corfe castle and steam train We enjoyed, traditional cold platters and freshly picked crab salads followed bychefs homemade vanilla cheesecake and creme brulee. Washed down by a Nederburg Rose. All in all a lovely meal with terrific staff

Bar staff tried to be helpful but couldn't compensate for the very poor and expensive food. Had to return meals which were served with couscous not the rice that was listed on the 'specials board'. The duck was inedible and although I enjoy what is now considered too much salt for my health, the chicken and leek pie appeared to have been dredged from the seabed! The general feeling was of a complacency knowing that the next coach or car load of trippers would be an easy catch, being prepared to pay the expensive prices.

I have not eaten in the Greyhound for a couple of years and was looking forward to going back. Unfortunately, I was extremely disapointed. I paid nearly £14.00 for 3 slices of lamb, some boiled potatoes and french beans. There was no presentation and no taste. I could have ordered this from a cafe for a fiver. My wife had Sausage Toad which was served burnt. The only meal which seemed reasonable was my daughters beef burger, which was charred around the edges but big enough to feed an adult. This pub needs the "Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares" treatment.

This was probably the worst dining experience of my life, and I have eaten out in 5 continents! The week before I sent a booking request from the pub website, which was ignored. I then sent an email from the same website, which was returned undelivered, so I then phoned and after some confusion with the member of staff, I managed to make the booking. On the night in question the pub was admittedly busy, but we were treated with the barest courtesy on arrival. I then had to fight my way back to the bar to place an order, and having enquired with the girl behind the bar that chips/ fries were included with my wifes meal, was disappointed to learn from another disatisfied customer that they were not,so I had to order again. On being told that there would be a delay for the chips, I made my displeasure known to the landlady, who seemed of the opinion that this was all my fault! This was all before we had eaten a mouthful and was highly distressing. The food when it eventually arrived was average, apart from the chips which were not done and barely edible. During the wait for the meal we were entertained by the chef emerging from the kitchen and swearing loudly at a member of the staff across the crowded room. Needless to say, we went across the road to the Bankes Arms for our pudding..... I will never set foot in the Greyhound again in my lifetime.
