Very unfriendly.
No atmosphere whatsoever.
Gents toilets overflowing and dirty.
Food OK but chicken very dry, vastly overpriced.
Service very bad and unfriendly, staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there.
Wine list very good & well explained.
Don't know how this pub got all the awards it claims it has.

We ate there twice last month and had great food (especially the fish - always fresh) and friendly service. I frequently send guests there from our B&B and have only had one disappointed customer in the past 2 years. Great pub, try it.

We won't be going back - visited two years ago and had top quality seafood but this time the food was mediocre pub grub - the fish did not taste fresh - and the welcome (being told aggressively to move our campervan, because it was taking up two spaces in the carpark, at a quiet time - only 1 other set of diners) was confrontational and offputting. The service was quick and the beer seemed well kept - but not enough to tempt us back I'm afraid.

I was disappointed with this restaurant that touted itself as a seafood haven. The moules main course was small (for £10), as were the mussels themselves; how fresh they were was debateable. The jus was bland. The crusty french bread was more chewy and looked like back in the bag bread. We were not asked if everything was OK on the way out. My conclusion is the management have got complacent and really need to get the basics right if they are charging decent London gastropub prices.

This pub is popular for its good food and I have visited often, but I think they're getting greedy. On my last visit I felt rushed through so they could get the next sitting in, and I honestly thought they'd accidentally given me the starter portion of mussels rather than the main. They hadn't, but to their credit they immediately reduced the bill so I only paid for the starter size. Nonetheless, if you want a relaxing meal, this isn't the pub for you.
