I totally agree with the previous comments. I was a bit short of funds last year and went to an express style opticians. The frame was good quality, but the optician who loooked at my fitting for varifocals neglected to look at the position of my pupils in relatonship to the lens, consequently 6 months later I was getting headaches. I have gone back to Willetts and Doig and won't be going anywhere else again

I have been a regular of Willets & Doig for several years. A visit to another optician made me aware of how good Willets are and I returned swiftly, never to stray again. An excellent team giving excellent service.

Managed to book a table for 2 for Saturday evening and was very lucky to get a table overlooking Castle Cornet and the harbour of St Peter Port - good start! We arrived a few minutes early and were shown through to a bar area where there were numerous "nibbles" however I decided to refrain from eating too many of these so as not to ruin my appetite. Being a great lover of lobster and crab I decided to start with the cream of lobster soup with crab dumplings and boy was it good! Two large dumplings of Guernsey crab and a beautifully smooth lobster soup - things were getting even better! My main was seared sea bass with chorizo on crushed new potatoes. There are numerous extras on the menu by way of fresh vegetables and different ways of having your potatoes cooked and as my course had potatoes I simply added some fresh green beans. I have to say that the tastes of all the elements of the main course made this the best meal I have ever eaten. My wife is not so much of a seafood fan so she had her tried and trusted fillet steak and she said that this was the best steak that she had ever had - perfectly cooked and meat of the highest standard. On our visit I noticed that there were a lot of "locals" in which must be a good indication of the quality of the food on offer and I would urge anyone visiting St Peter Port to pay this restaurant a visit as you will not be disappointed. Marks out of 10 - I would give 15!!!
