Castletown, Isle of Man

Review of Castletown by stan cotter on July 7th, 2010
i have visited and stayed in castletown so many times since 1959 and it always felt like coming home. we made lots of friends including a few pub landlords and customers of the "glue pot" (castle arms) sadly bella has since passed away but we knew her when with albert they ran the union on arbory street. many friends have since moved on and indeed some have passed but will always remain good memories. the castle is always worth a visit. a train ride will take you up to douglas or down to porterin and if delayed at the station there are two good pubs right by the station. hango hill has its own tale to tell and nearby at ronaldsway is a small museum full of artefacts frm the war years and relics found in the sea off the isleofman. dont take my word, go and see it yourself
