'Royal' Ascot in Berkshire is a small attractive town famous for its racecourse and, in particular, ladies day every June. It is close enough to london to warrant a day trip and is situated in a rather lovely part of England that is not necessarily on the tourist trail. The town is also well served by hotels, Bed and breakfasts and good restaurants and Inns
