for A big day out at the National Marine Aquarium as your favourite British event.

The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth will be going large this half term, as visitors learn more about the amazing world of ocean giants. From 28th May until 5th June, visitors to the Aquarium will be able to follow the Ocean Giants Trail, packed with fascinating facts about the biggest creatures in our seas.

Young explorers following the trail will be able to complete their own set of ten Ocean Giants Top Trump-style cards, featuring ocean heavyweights including blue whales, sunfish, great white sharks and the incredible colossal squid, which can grow up to 14 metres long. Those paying a visit to the popular Discovery Zone at the Aquarium will be able to make extra cards to add to their collections, as well as creating manta ray puppets and their own mini giant squid.

Dr David Gibson, Managing Director, of the National Marine Aquarium, said:
“We are looking forward to welcoming our half term visitors to learn more about the enormous creatures that share our oceans. It’s sometimes hard to imagine the sheer size of a blue whale or colossal squid, so our team will be on hand throughout to reveal more about the fascinating world of ocean giants, with daily talks revealing the biggest and heaviest animals in the sea.”
