On Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June, Meadowbank recreation ground in Dorking undergoes an extravagant transformation when it hosts a festival celebrating all things Thai!! The Welcome To Thailand Festival is a spectacular outdoor celebration of Thai food and handicrafts, traditions and culture presented in unique style for all the family to take part in and enjoy. The attractions will include: Thai food, fruit and dessert stalls, Thai handicrafts, a Thai beer garden, Thai cookery demonstrations, fruit and vegetable carving, Thai shoulder and foot massage, traditional Thai dancing and music, Thai boxing and martial arts demonstrations, and a Buddhist ceremony. Each morning, to open the event, a dazzling Thai Parade will dance from Dorking Halls along the High Street before entering St Martins Walk Shopping Centre then down to Meadowbank. The events opens at 11am until 6pm with tickets available on the gates at adult £5, child £2, family £10 (parents and 2 children) and senior citizen £3, including a programme. Come before 12 noon and get a special discount on ticket entry £3 adult, £6 family.
