Born 1957 - English actor & writer.

Studied at Queen’s College, Cambridge, appeared with Cambridge Footlights revue. Wrote his first play Latin (1980). Appeared on television in A Bit of Fry & Laurie (1989-95), Jeeves and Wooster (1990-93) and in the series Blackadder. Won acclaim lauded for his portrait of Oscar Wilde, in Wilde (1997). Also appeared in the films A Handful of Dust (1988) and A Fish Called Wanda (1988). Walked out of the play Cell Mates (1995) just before its West End opening in 1995.
