Ofili is a British artist, educated at Tameside College, Chelsea School of Art, and the Royal College of Art, who was one of the most celebrated Young British Artists in the late 20th century. He works in London, Trinidad and Brooklyn. His work is mainly figurative painting, though for tabloid purposes it is best known for his occasional use of elephant dung as a material. In 1998 he was awarded the Turner Prize.
